The Best Inkey List Products For Combination Skin (2023)

It’s been a while since I’ve blogged about one of my favorite skincare brands, The Inkey List. They’re currently running a 25% off sale for Black Friday on their site, so now seems like a good time to share my updated favorites for combination skin! These products are all less than $20 each and make up a full routine from start to finish.

Cleanser for Combination Skin

I’ve tried almost every cleanser the Inkey List has released, and the best one for my combination skin was the Hyaluronic Acid Cleanser. It was gentle on my skin and around my eyes, removed light makeup decently well, and didn’t leave my skin feeling squeaky clean and stripped. Some of the other cleansers by them have textures I wasn’t a fan of, or irritated my eyes too much. This cleanser’s light gel texture feels great in both cold and warm weather, and a little goes a long way.

Serum

I couldn’t choose just one serum, so here’s my top two favorites from the Inkey List. First up is the Niacinamide Serum. Niacinamide is a great ingredient for combination skin because it helps with uneven skin texture, and minimizes oil production. This original formula is very lightweight on the skin, and has enough niacinamide to be effective without being so much that it could cause irritation. There’s also a 20% niacinamide serum that I’ve tried, but I think it’s a little too much for me personally. If you’re new to using this ingredient, definitely start with the lower concentration in this serum before bumping up to a stronger one.

The Tranexamic Acid serum is my other favorite treatment product by the Inkey List. TA is known to help fade dark spots, which I definitely experience after my skin breaks out. The serum is a thick gel texture, but it absorbs into the skin well and adds moisture at the same time. In warmer weather, I don’t feel like my skin needs a moisturizer on top of this product, but YMMV.

Eye Cream

Although the Caffeine Eye Cream is one of their most popular products, my personal favorite is Brighten-i Eye Cream. The main focus for this product is minimizing the look of dark circles, which is my biggest concern with my undereyes. It adds brightness and hydrates my skin without being too heavy or causing milia to form under my eyes. The metal tip on the end also adds a cooling effect when applying the product to my skin.

Moisturizer for Combination Skin

If you like your moisturizers to have a gel-cream texture, you HAVE to try the Omega Water Cream. This lightweight texture melts into my skin and feels so hydrating without being heavy or greasy at all. In warm weather I can get away with using this on its own, and I can layer more hydrating serums underneath this in cold weather when my skin needs a little more help. I’ve used gel-creams from other brands and although they’re nice, this comes at the lowest price point while still being a GREAT moisturizer.

SPF for Combination Skin

One of the most recent launches by the Inkey List is their Polyglutamic Acid Dewy Sunscreen, and this is GREAT on darker skin! There’s no white cast at all, and the cream texture blends into my skin without feeling heavy or greasy like other sunscreens do. I shared some good sunscreens for darker skin this past summer, and this is one of my favorites from that list.

Bonus- Haircare

My scalp gets pretty dry and flaky, but Salicylic Scalp Treatment helps really exfoliate my scalp and make it feel fresh again. The nozzle on this makes it very easy to get past my thick hair and apply straight to my scalp, and works even better if my hair is in braids or twists. I massage this into my scalp and let it sit for up to an hour, wash my hair like normal, and my scalp feels brand new. LOVE this product and I’m really glad to see this skincare brand branch out into haircare!
